Opportunities Flow from River Bend

River Bend Career and Technical Center is a trade school that is located in Bradford, Vermont and is connected to Oxbow High School. Robert St Pierre, the director of River Bend, tries to keep the environment professional and fun at the same time. Most of the teachers strive to do the same but also teach their students the material that is necessary to strive in the field that they are studying. Every class has different class structures in how they go about their subjects that they learn. For a good example is how criminal justice mostly does paper work with little hands on work and diversified agriculture and natural resources does more hands on topics with some paperwork.

After interviewing a few people from are school the majority of the people all said that the atmosphere in the classroom was good and that they were going back next year. Scott Powell a junior and Calvin Bonser a sophomore both are in the Culinary class at River Bend. They both said that the teacher was awesome and that they would both go back next year. “The program is very friendly but it does have its days just like any other place.” said Calvin. Emi Hebb from Health science said that she was also going back and that the atmosphere is good but the teacher is a good person but has some bad aspects just like any other teacher that you will come across. She said that she recommends the program to everyone and they do take some college classes like Medical terminology. Caleb Roseberry a junior in criminal justice loves the class and the teacher. He said if you want to be in law enforcement then it is a good class to take because it goes over almost everything. Morgan Goodrich from cosmetology also loves the class and would recommend it to anyone that is interested in doing hair for anyone.

There is also diversified agriculture and natural resources which does logging, sugaring, gardening, and trapping. Small engines which is the more mechanical aspect of diversified agriculture and natural resources. Then there is heavy equipment that deals with the really big equipment like the front loaders, excavators, and the dump trucks. 21 century media that designs websites and stuff like that on computers. They have a class for almost all interests that you need skills for. All jobs have skills and require some training.
